Chemotherapy is frequently given with hormones to many women and is given alone to those women whose tumors are estrogen or progesterone receptor negative. Women with intra-abdominal metastases can be treated with intra-abdominal chemotherapy (cisplatin or carboplatin). Occasionally, palliative radiation therapy may be given to a localized distant metastasis . Five-Year Survival Up to 5 percent Investigational • Chemotherapeutic drugs given in various doses and combinations are being studied. These include cisplatin , carboplatin, Adriamycin , mitoxantrone , Cytoxan , ifosfamide , 5-fluorouracil, methotrexate and Taxol with or without progestational hormones or antiestrogenic drugs.
